What did the devil need more souls for, anyhow? Between the greed and the gluttony, Hell seemed pretty full to me. Was it possible that he just liked granting wishes and doing good deeds? Maybe we’re the ones who took it for granted, who poisoned our own well and pointed fingers at the one who led us to water.
